Stars & Stripes Picnic at WWI Memorial

The National WWI Museum and Memorial and KC RiverFest will combine celebrations for Kansas City’s official 4th of July and fireworks celebration. Celebrate our nation’s independence at the Stars and Stripes Picnic with family and friends. There will be over 50 vendors to visit and grab a bite. Plus, live music and fireworks over the memorial. Arrive as early as 3 p.m. for picnicking and shopping. Fireworks will begin after dusk.Â
Lenexa 4th of July Community Parade
Old Town Lenexa

The parade is back! This annual tradition in Old Town Lenexa is one of the longest Fourth of July parades in KC. Catch the parade along Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road.
Gardner July 4th Celebration

Lenexa Freedom Run

This run will be held in person this year! Run fees are $30 June 1st-July 2nd. Day of the race will be $35. Race is in Old Town Lenexa.
OP Star Spangled Spectacular

This display will be located at 9711 W. 109th St. at the Corporate Woods Founders Park.
Village Fest in Prairie Village

Monday, July 4th 7:30 am- 1:00 pm.
This years event will have carnival rides, bounce houses, pony rides, and more. There will also be a free swim from 12:00pm-6:00pm at the Prairie Village pool. There will also be a pancake breakfast at Harmon Park for only $5 a plate.
Lansing Fireworks Celebration

Kearney Fireworks Celebration

This free event will have inflatables, cotton candy, a playground and a concert. All to be followed by fireworks at 9:30pm.

The whole family can experience what it was like on July 4th… in the 1860-70’s. Visit the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm for live blacksmiths demonstrations, cookstove demonstrations, patriotic songs and even a signing of the Declaration of Independence!
All activities included with regular site admission. Adults are $7, Children $5 & kids ages 4 & below are free. Olathe residents receive $2 off.

This new 4th of July tradition includes a parade, face painting, balloon artists, inflatables, community events and more for 3 days at the lake followed by a spectacular fireworks display on the 29th! Check out their event site for more details and times for specific events.
Fireworks 1860’s Style: Family Fun Night
Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm: 1200 E. Kansas City Road Olathe, Kansas
Thursday, July 7th from 6 to 10 pm
Bring your blankets, chairs, and snacks to enjoy an all- American day of fun. Everyone is welcome at this FREE community event!
There will be a living history exhibit with the Mahaffie House, Agricultural Heritage, Livestock Barn, cooking demonstrations on an authentic cook stove, & stagecoach rides. There will be live music by the Olathe Civic Band at 7:30 pm and Gum Springs Serenaders at 8:30 pm. You can also hear a reading from the Deceleration of Independence at 9:20 p.m. with a cannon fire that will signal the start of the 1860s style Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Before you head out to view the fireworks shows, check your destinations site to see if there are any rules and guidelines for capacity, pets, chairs and beverages you can bring. Some places are located on school and church campuses so glass and alcohol may be restricted. Also, fireworks have gotten louder over the years, make sure you bring noise reduction headphones or earplugs. Don’t forget the snacks and blankets too! Have a great 4th of July.
