Stars & Stripes Picnic at WWI Memorial

July 4th

The National WWI Museum and Memorial is hosting Kansas City’s official 4th of July and fireworks celebration. Celebrate our nation’s independence at the Stars and Stripes Picnic with family and friends. There will be tons of vendors to visit and grab a bite. Plus, live music and fireworks over the memorial. Arrive as early as 3 p.m. for picnicking and shopping. Fireworks will begin around 9:35.

Lenexa 4th of July Community Parade

Old Town Lenexa

The parade is back! This annual tradition in Old Town Lenexa is one of the longest Fourth of July parades in KC. Catch the parade along Santa Fe Trail Drive and Pflumm Road. Find the full parade route here.

Gardner July 4th Celebration

There will be tons of live music, activities, and fireworks. There will also be local food trucks serving up great food. This event is free for all ages and parking is first come first served.

Lenexa Freedom Run

This annual Freedom Run is a standard 5K and 10K. Register for this festive run in Old Town Lenexa today and get ready to celebrate the 4th of July with other local runners at every level.

OP Star Spangled Spectacular

This display will be located at 9711 W. 109th St. at the Corporate Woods Founders Park. There will be food trucks and a beautiful display of fireworks. Get there early to grab the best spots. Fireworks start at 10:05.

Lansing Fireworks Celebration

This year, the Lancing Fireworks Celebration will be located at Lansing High School starting at 3:00pm. The fireworks will begin roughly at 9:30pm. There will be live music, food trucks, and more.

Kearney Fireworks Celebration

Kearney Amphitheater: North, 3001 MO-33, Kearney, MO

July 3rd, 5:00pm

This free event will have inflatables, cotton candy, a playground, and a concert. All to be followed by fireworks at 9:30 pm. Parking is also free.

Family Fun Night 1860’s Fireworks

July 11th, 6:00 pm-10:00 pm

The whole family can experience what it was like on July 4th… in the 1860-70s. Visit the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop and Farm for live blacksmiths demonstrations, cookstove demonstrations, patriotic songs, and even a signing of the Declaration of Independence!

This event is free for all, stagecoach rides are $3 and activity tickets are $1.

Mahaffies’ Independence Day Celebration

July 6th from 10:00am- 4:00pm

Hear the Declaration of Independence, meet Uncle Sam, play vintage style baseball, enjoy ice cream or an old fashioned root beer float and more. Adults are $9 and kids are $7. Kids 4 and under are free.
