As the only working stagecoach stop left on the Santa Fe Trail, Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm offers unique experiences and opportunities that engage visitors of all ages in discovering 1860s farming, life on the Kansas frontier, and stagecoach travel.
Daily activities, special programs and events, and admission fees vary seasonally.
Ride in our reproduction “Concord” style of coach or our original “mudwagon” style of stagecoach.
Living history programing is offered on weekends in April, May, September, and October and daily on Wednesday thru Saturday, from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Oxen, horses, sheep, chickens, and other era and breed-appropriate livestock live on the farm today just as they did in the 1860s and 1870s. Plan Your Visit today!
The Heritage Center, opened in 2008, is a “portal” to the historic grounds.

The Agricultural Heritage Barn, completed in 2014, provides visitors with an agricultural experience year round and the opportunity to learn more about the Mahaffies’ prosperous, Civil War era farm.
Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm invites visitors of all ages to discover a working 1860s farm with horses, chickens, sheep, and other livestock. You and your family can engage in some of the activities that were a part of daily life for the Mahaffie family and their neighbors. Mahaffie is open year round, activities and admission vary by day and by season.
