Each child receives individualized attention from staff, trained for your child’s specific needs. The academy class sizes are no more than 10 students per class, which is ideal for high-quality learning. Horizon Academy welcomes students struggling with dyslexia, other Specific Learning Disabilities, or children (without learning disabilities) who need academic support. The caring staff inspire children to become academically confident and strong, which helps the students to ultimately return to a normal class setting.

Summer Programs for Kids with Learning Disabilities
Horizon Academy offers a variety of summer programs and activities for students with dyslexia & other learning disabilities, as well as average and above-average children who need educational support. Programs are offered for elementary to high school aged children. Below is an overview of summer programs for 2018. Your Options:
June Full Day Program (June 4-29)- This program mirrors a regular school day at Horizon Academy. Students receive instruction in core content areas including reading instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach and math using the Math-U-See approach. Students also have classes in PE, music and art and take weekly trips to the Fairway pool.
July Half-Day Program (July 9-27)- This program provides academic support for students who need assistance in reading, writing, math and study skills.
Summer Tutoring (June 4-July 27)- Tutoring is available 2 or 3 days a week in the Orton-Gillingham approach or in math using the Math-U-See approach.
ABCs & 123s (June 4-29)- This program is for children ages 5-7 and promotes early literacy and numeracy skills.
