We are thrilled to welcome you to our site. My name is Shawna, the publisher of iFamilyKC, born and raised in the Kansas City metro.
My husband and I are the parents of three crazy kiddos that have so very different interests and personalities, so we’ve always searched for a wide variety of activities & fun things to do. We know what parents need and want for family life in Kansas City.

After a decade in the corporate world, and then becoming a stay-at-home mom, Shawna Allen created iFamilyKC & iPetsKC to connect Kansas City with quality resources, deals & things to do.
We’ve served KC parents & families since 2003 – providing helpful information & resources to make parents’ lives easier & more fun. iFamilyKC was founded as a resource for KC parents to find quality information & tips for family fun & entertainment, enrichment programs, health & wellness services, kids camps, birthday party options, shopping, family-friendly events, and more.

We run this site and publish our free monthly resource guide with an incredible team of iFamilyKC Mom Squad volunteers, staff writers, social media strategists & assistants, as well as an outstanding distribution team for our monthly copies that go out to over 1,000 drop spots all over the metro.
Sophie is our Digital Operations Manager, Webmaster & SEO specialist. Emmalee coordinates our iPetsKC social media and iFamilyKC Instagram. Grace is our resident guru on what’s going on around town. She is the creator of our elaborate weekly eNews eBlast. Brigette is our Jane-of-all-trades, handling our private Facebook Parent Group and providing endless hours of research for our many guides, articles and resources for local KC parents., as well as updating our online calendars for both iFamilyKC and iPetsKC. Megan does most of our updating of content and links on our website. Isabelle keeps us hopping on Pinterest & Twitter. Tiffany has been our graphic artist for every monthly issue over the last 20+ years.
