This hands-on class is held once a month on Mondays at 2:00 PM and is perfect for beginners who want to learn the basics of working with this soft\, natural fiber. \nDuring this class\, students will learn: \n• About Alpaca Fiber – its unique characteristics\, why it felts so well\, and how it differs from other fibers.\n• Needle Felting Tools – how to safely handle felting needles and the differences between common needle types\, including: \nCoarse needles – used for shaping and forming the base of a project. \nMedium needles – ideal for general felting and shaping. \nFine needles – used for detail work and smoothing the surface. \nStar or spiral needles – used to felt fiber faster and create a smoother finish.\n• Design Basics – how to plan a simple design and build it step-by-step.\n• Working with Color – using single colors and blended fibers to create shading and texture. \nStudents will create a small beginner project while learning the techniques needed to eventually make felted pictures or simple 3-D creations such as bugs or animals. \nBy the end of the class\, students will understand:\n• The basic supplies needed for needle felting\n• How long projects typically take to complete\n• Where to purchase many of the tools and materials needed to continue felting at home \nAll materials for the class project are provided.

And there’s no better place to get started than our Rock Band Camps! \nOpen to musicians of all skill levels\, Rock Band Camps offer a fun and easy way for kids to join a band for the first time. \nAt the start of camp\, each student is assigned to a band based on their age and skill level. Many of our bands include campers who are playing an instrument for the very first time! \nDuring camp\, bands will receive coaching from experienced musicians. We also offer tips and instruction to individual students who want to build their skills. Our instructors are experienced musicians\, including professional touring and studio artists. \nDepending on each band’s skill level\, we encourage students to choose which songs they want to perform. Our song library includes 400+ songs across a wide range of genres\, with arrangements for all skill levels. Skilled musicians can even write and perform their own songs\, with help from experienced songwriters. \nBy the end of the camp\, each band will have the chance to perform on stage and record in a real music studio.
