5K Home Run

This race is perfect for seasoned racers, walkers and those who’ve never run or even walked 3.1 miles. Grab your strollers and favorite pets on a leash — they’re welcome, too! Sarah Plake, KSHB-TV 41 news anchor, will emcee the event.

$30 per person. Teams of four or more people can register to receive a $5 discount per person for either the in-person or virtual event. Virtual teams don’t have to complete their 5Ks together.

All participants receive a race T-shirt. Medals will be awarded for the top male and female overall and master’s (40+) finishers, and the top 3 male and female finishers in these age groups: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Free kids’ activities on-site, too!

Virtual participants can complete their 5K anytime between May 23-29, then submit their race photos to share on our social media.

This run supports Family Promise of Lawrence, an agency that works with families who are experiencing a housing crisis in Douglas County. In 2022 we served 266 families, which includes 832 individuals — 479 of which were children.
