Catch Pokémon Without Leaving Your House: Playing Pokémon Go at Home Just Got Easier
If your kids (or you) love Pokémon Go, you’ll be excited by this announcement.
Playing the game inside your home just got A LOT easier thanks to the creators….
With entire cities and school systems shutting down , staying at home is becoming more recommended.
However, Pokémon Go pretty much requires you to go outside and explore in order to catch more Pokémon.
So the game’s developers are taking measures to update Pokémon Go so it’s easier to stay indoors while still playing the game.
What’s Changing with Pokémon Go?
Temporary changes are being make to Pokémon Go so that you don’t have to leave your home to catch Pokémon.
While these changes are not permanent, they are already available on the game and will be for the foreseeable future.
According to an interview with Polygon the game developers will be focusing on “individual settings” in order to make it easier for players to enjoy the game indoors.
The developers will update the app to include the following changes:
- Increase the frequency of gift droppings at pokéstops so players can find a higher frequency of gifts
- Increase habitats so players can find more monsters in & around their home
- Increasing incubator effectiveness so your eggs will hatch 2x as fast
Niantic is also offering a 99% discount on incense packs to increase spawns!
“While we’ve made these updates based on the current global health situation, we also encourage players to make decisions on where to go and what to do that are in the best interest of their health and the health of their communities,” said a Niantic spokesperson.
When Will Updates Be Live?
These updates are already live within the game and will be around until further notice.
Niantic is using these updates as a way of promoting people staying in their homes while avoiding close contact with others.
“While we’ve made these updates based on the current global health situation, we also encourage players to make decisions on where to go and what to do that are in the best interest of their health and the health of their communities,” Niantic said.
