As a Kansas City tradition, we can’t be more excited that it’s back for another year.
This year it’s the perfect event because you can drive your car through the Christmas light displays.
So head to Longview Lake to get the holiday spirit and enjoy the sparkling magic with your kiddos! You can even pack snacks and hot chocolate in the car…
About Christmas in the Park in Lee’s Summit
Enjoy 200+ different figures and scenes that depict different holiday fun, as well as over 1 million holiday lights spread throughout the park. Whether you’re 3 or 83, it’s a fun time!
Christmas in the Park has been in Kansas City for 36 years, so many of us grew up with it. Bring your kids to experience the magic too!
Opening Day is Wednesday, November 22nd, with the show ending on New Year’s Eve (December 31st).
It opens each day at 5:30 pm, but make sure it is dark before you head over. You want to be able to see the lights!
Christmas in the park closes at 10:00 pm Sunday to Thursday each week and stays open an hour later on Fridays and Saturdays, closing at 11:00 pm.
How Much Does It Cost?
The holiday light show is free to enjoy. You will not be charged admission before entering the Christmas experience.
However, you can donate at the end of the drive. The donation will be spread across over 40 local charities. Since the beginning of Christmas in the Park, over 1 million dollars have been donated to charities throughout the Kansas City metro area.
Where Do I Enter?
The official address of Christmas in the Park is 3901 SW Longview Rd. Leeโs Summit, MO.
You will enter at the Frank White Jr. softball complex.
Anything Else?
It is highly recommended that you arrive early to the event and plan to wait. The lines can get really long, depending on the day of the week. But itโs definitely worth the wait!
Pro tip: Visit Christmas in the Park during the week to cut down on wait times.
Consider packing a cooler with snacks and drinks for your kids. Especially if youโre driving a ways. If you are able, bring along some yummy hot cocoa and Christmas cookies!
