Aerial Fitness for KIDS: iFamilyKC Kids Club Recap from Learning2Fly
About Learning2Fly
Learning2Fly is located on Johnson Drive in Mission, KS, and the studio is as unique as the classes they offer for kids and adults. The studio has a really calming energy to it, so warm and inviting you can’t help but feel at home as soon as you step in. The instructors at Learning2Fly focus on seven habits of good health in everything that they do. The main floor of their building focuses on physical health with silk ropes suspended from the ceiling where participants can practice aerial yoga and other classes at the studio. The upstairs area has other silk ropes and a large space for learning and craft time, which the kids experience during the event.
Aerial Fitnessย
Good physical health is important in life, and teaching our kids ways to keep our bodies healthy is an important life skill that will set them up for success later in life. The aerial fitness classes for kids that are offered at Learning2Fly aim to help kids maintain healthy, strong bodies by engaging them in fun workouts that the kids really enjoy. My own six-year-old made a comment as she was climbing the silk ropes at the studio, “this is hard,” she said. The instructor’s response was amazing and was a valuable life lesson in and of itself. She said, “It IS hard but YOU can do it!”.
7 Habits: A Chakra Circus of Health
Learning2Fly focuses on 7 habits of healthy bodies – from the inside out. The kids truly learn that they are creative beings and what that means for their lives and our community during art sessions at the studio. During the event, the kids spent time creating motivational artwork that they took home with them as a reminder that they are strong.
Everyone Wants to Learn2Fly
…doesn’t everyone wish their superpower was flying?
Kids experienced Aerial Yoga while building core body strength and self-worth. An encouraging word by Sumya Anani, owner and operator, taught children the power of positivity while steering them away from โI canโtโ statements.
They also offer summer, spring, and winter camps where kids are able to try out hammocks and silks and do a craft with an affirmation of their choosing. Small groups allowed each child to be an active participant during their camp session. The kids will feel equally challenged as they learn and explore. My son took it all in and really got into the meditation groove on and off the silks. My daughter, the crafter, explored the artsy part of the program and left with the affirmation, โI am nice.โ They both enjoyed their time at Learning2Fly and are looking forward to our next drop-in class.
Looking for a unique environment?
This is it.
The location provides a special fitness environment for all ages. From the outside, it seems like you are entering the unknown, but once you enter through the chalkboard door, it feels calm.
The interior is colorful and inviting. I believe this reflects Sumyaโs own love of colorful tie dye, which if you read the website closely, happens to be her favorite if you are looking to score some brownie points! The studio allows for an area specific to those wanting to work with silks and a smaller area for those wanting to work in hammocks.
Everyone is Welcome:
…from toddlers to retirees!
The facility itself caters to every age and everyBODY with classes, special programs, parties, and camps throughout the year.
