What is the first big movie of the fall? RUSH! Rush, starring Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt and Daniel Bruhl as Niki Lauda, takes place in the 1970s. It is based off the true story of two rivals, Hunt and Lauda, in Formula 1 racing. The two rivals are very successful racers, but couldn't be more opposite. Hunt is a sexy, over the top partier, who lacks focus everywhere except the racetrack. Lauda is a brilliant man who could compensates for his lack of social skills in his knowledge of cars. T
he rivalry follows them for years as they continue to compete race after race. In addition to the races, the movie follows their personal lives, especially their love life. Both of them have a significant other and their relationship, at times, can drastically affect their racing. From weddings to an affair, their personal life moves as quickly as their careers.
The majority of the movie follows Hunt and Lauda as they travel the world in the Formula 1 races. After a tragic accident in one of the races, Lauda is forced to sit out for several weeks and watch is opponent continue to triumph. His only hope to get back into the races is a speedy recovery.
This movie was incredible. One of the most amazing parts was that it is based off true events. Some of the events that occurred are unbelievable! The acting was superb and cast beautifully. It is a gripping story that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. Even for people who do not know anything about Formula 1 racing, like myself, you will still find it to be an incredible story!
